Jamil Ahmed Barbhuiya is an alumni of Assam University, Silchar. He completed his MSW, Specialization in Family And Child Welfare in the year 2002.

He worked as a Social Investigator from 28th May, 2005 to 31st January 2015 in the project “Population Based Cancer Registry” (PBCR) at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Mr. Barbhuiya joined Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati as a Social Investigator (Tech-F) in the Department of Medico Social Work on 2nd February 2015.

Mr. Barbhuiya was awarded with a certificate of appreciation for his outstanding performance in 2011 and again he received the award of second best performing staff (Technical Category) of Dr.B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahatin in the year 2015.

On the occasion of Lokabandhu Day Mr. Barbhuiya received a certificate of appreciation for compassionate patient care (Non-Medical Category) from Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute authority on September 4th, 2021.

In July 2021, Mr. Barbhuiya have been promoted from Social Investigator,Tech-F to Assistant Medical Social Worker,Tech-G by the management of Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati. Mr. Barbhuiya attendant several seminars, conferences, National Level Workshops, Awareness Programme and Paediatric palliative care CME for Basic of paediatric palliative care etc.
