Dr. Swaraj Jyoti Sonowal, MBBS, MD is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine.He completed his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College, MD from Silchar Medical College and 3 years Senior Residentship from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital ,New Delhi.He is currently actively involved in evaluating patients in the PAC( pre anaesthetic clinic),administration of anaesthesia to surgical patients in the Operation theatre( OT) , management of patients in the ICU(intensive care unit) as well as providing academic lessons to OT technology and CSSD students.He is also involved in administration of anaesthesia in remote locations ( RT suite ,CT,MRI etc) as well as performing procedures in the Interventional Pain Clinic.He is trained in Palliative Medicine,BLS( basic life support),ACLS(advanced cardiac life support) under AHA( American heart association) and PALS ( Paediatric Advanced Life Support) under Medtigo Health Education.He is also certified in Biomedical Research and Good Clinical Practice.He is a member of several national and regional societies including life membership of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists. He has presented several papers in national and regional conferences. He has authored a book chapter on Cancer Pain Management in "Principles and Practice of Oncology,First Edison (2021)".He has also authored in more than 10 publications in both national and international journals of repute and has several ongoing research projects in the institute.
