Dr. Shiraj Ahmed has exposure of more than 12 years in various fields of pathology like Haematology, Clinical Pathology, Histopathology, Cytopathology and Immunohistochemistry including 11 years of dedicated practice in a specialized Oncopathology setup. He has also served as a Laboratory Director in a NABL accredited diagnostic laboratory.

Dr. Ahmed has keen interest in the diagnostic histopathology and immunohistochemistry of cancers especially of the Head and Neck, Breast and Female Genital Tract. He is actively guiding and mentoring students of various courses like DM Oncopathology, MSc in Cancer biology and DMLT. He has delivered numerous talks and has been panellists in scientific discussions in national and regional conferences.

Dr. Ahmed has served as a member of the Editorial Board of the journal ‘Annals of Oncology Research & Therapy’ and has 22 indexed publications and 2 book chapters to his credit. Dr. Ahmed is currently serving as the Chairperson of Scientific Committee, Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute. He is also the Treasurer of Clinical Society, Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute. He is actively associated with various regional and national associations like IAPM, NERC- IAPM, AONEI, FHNO and FOGSI.
