Dr. Tashnin Rahman is the Professor & Head of Department in the Department of Head & Neck Surgery with the clinical experience of more than 24 years in the field of Head & Neck Oncology.

She passed her MBBS and MS (ENT) from Gauhati Medical College & Hospital. Her areas of interest are oral cavity cancer and its reconstruction, cancer Thyroid and cancer Hypopharynx.

She received the ‘L H HIRANANDINI 1 AWARD’ in 2003 and ‘Dr S N SARMA ORATION AWARD’ in 2016.

She has a teaching experience of the super specialty McH (Head & Neck Oncology) course and two years certified post graduate Fellowship program.

She is the PRINCIPAL Investigator and co Investigator of various research project funded by ICMR/ DBT.

She has keen interest in awareness and screening program of early detection of oral cancer. She is actively involved in Anti Tobacco Advocacy (NTPC/VOTE/ASSAM GOVT) and Anti Tobacco Campaign in schools and Colleges.

She has more than 55 publication in reputed national & international scientific journal also authored two chapters in two books.

She is also the officer in-charge (Hospital Services), member secretary DSMU and member of Institutional Ethical Committee.
