DR DEBABRATA BARMON, MD, Professor and I/c, Dept of Gynae Oncology, has a vast experience of more than 20 years in Gynaecological cancer surgery and treatment. Dr Barmon is trained in Colposcopy and is a Master Trainer for treatment of Cervical pre cancer disease. He is a trained laparoscopic surgeon and received his training in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr Barmon has also undergone Gynaecological Onco-surgery training at Singapore under Dr E H Tay, who is a renowned Gynae oncologist of Singapore. He also has undergone a fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Centre, Buffallo, USA in advanced Gynae Oncosurgery. He has also a certificate of basic skills of Robotic surgery from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, USA.

Dr. Barmon has 55 indexed publications and 14 Book Chapters to his credit and he is the joint Editor of a book on Gynecological Malignancy, "Fundamentals in Gynaecologic Malignancy" published by Springer International.

Dr. Barmon is the Principal Investigator and Co PI of various Research Projects funded by ICMR/DBT. Most of his research activities revolves around cervical cancer prevention.

Dr. Barmon has received the Best Paper in Oncology Award at the All India Congress of Obstetric and Gynecology held in Mumbai, 2013. He was also awarded the IACA Travelling Fellowship for Onco surgical Training at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo,USA.

Recently Dr. Barmon was awarded the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology Professional Recognition Certification award (2023), the certificate will be awarded at the ESGO meeting at Istanbul, Turkey in September 2023.

Dr. Barmon has a keen interest in community awareness and screening programs and he has participated in numerous cancer awareness and screening camps across the whole of NE India.

Dr. Barmon is also a recognised external examiner for super speciality MCh gynae oncology university examination.

Dr. Barmon has delivered numerous talks in many national and regional conferences as faculty.

Dr. Barmon is associated with various oncology associations namely AONEI, AOGIN, FOGSI, AGOI, ISO, IMS, ESGO, IGCS.
