Mr. Shantanu Kumar Mishra, M. Sc Radiological Physics, Scientific Officer C, is working as Medical Physicist in the department of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Bhubaneshwar Borooah Cancer Institute since 2022. He has more than 6 years experience in the field of Medical Physics. He is also an Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) certified Radiological Safety Officer (RSO-Medical) for medical institutions in India. He has undergone 1 year training at Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai in areas of external beam treatment planning, Brachytherapy, Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT), Tomotherapy, In-vivo dosimetry etc. He has undergone training in Total Body Irradiation at ACTREC, Mumbai. He has experience of commissioning of linear accelerator, telecobalt machine and brachytherapy equipments. Mr. Mishra also was involved in clinical commissioning of the radiotherapy department in MPMMCC, Varanasi. He is actively involved in starting DIBH treatment and in setup of Blood irradiator facility at BBCI. He has presented posters/papers in various national and international conferences. He is a faculty for various academic courses like Msc. Radiological Physics, Post graduate diploma in Radiotherapy technology etc.
