DR. MUNLIMA HAZARIKA, MD, Professor and I/C, Department of Medical and Pediatric Oncology, has a vast experience of more than 17 years in treating adult and pediatric cancer patients. Her field of interest is pediatric oncology and she was proactive in establishing a state of the art treatment center for childhood cancer in Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute. She did travelling fellowship in pediatric oncology in Benioff Children Hospital, UCSF, San Francisco.
Dr. Hazarika has more than 30 publications in indexed journals and four chapters in oncology text books to her credit. She has participated in many national and international conferences as faculty and has been contributing as Principle Investigator (PI) and Co PI in many research projects including drug trial.
Dr. Hazarika is a recognized examiner for super specialty DM Medical Oncology university examination and Pediatric Oncology Fellowship Examination. She is also recognized examiner of DNB thesis for medical oncology.
Dr. Hazarika has been working in close association with many non-government organizations to provide comprehensive service to childhood cancer patients and their families which includes free/ subsidized treatment and other logistic support for needy ones. She is also one of the nodal persons for World Health Organisation’s South East Asia Regional Practice Network for childhood cancer services.
