Dr. PARTHA S ROY, MD (Medicine), DM (Medical Oncology) is the Professor in the Dept. of Medical Oncology. Dr. Roy after attaining the super-specialty degree in Medical Oncology from prestigious Tata Memorial Centre, HBNI, Mumbai in Medical Oncology joined Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute as Assistant Professor. Dr. Roy has a vast experience with more than 10 years of service in various fields of oncology like, medical oncology, hematological oncology and pediatric oncology.

Dr. Roy was awarded the ‘European Certified Medical Oncologist’ (ECMO) certification award in 2013.

Dr. Roy has 22 indexed publications in various national and international journals, and 3 book chapters to his credit. Dr. Roy has contributed towards the development of various national guidelines in cancer management in India. Dr. Roy is also a peer reviewer in several indexed journals.

Dr. Roy has the experience of mentoring and guiding numerous trainees in their academic (DM/MCh/Fellowship/PhD/MSc programs) careers. Dr. Roy is also a recognized examiner for super-specialty course in DM Medical Oncology university examination.

Dr. Roy has participated in drug trials and investigator initiated trials as Principal Investigator and Co-PI. Dr. Roy was also awarded with certificates on ‘Basic Course in Biomedical Research, 2020’ and ‘Current Regulatory Requirement for Conducting Clinical Trials in India for New Drugs, 2022’.

Dr. Roy has taken interest in community awareness and screening programs and has participated in several cancer awareness programs across the NE India.

Dr. Roy has delivered numerous talks in regional, national and international oncology conferences, and has participated in innumerable meetings as faculty.

Dr. Roy is actively associated with various national and international oncological societies namely ASCO, ESMO, ISO, ISMPO, ICON, AONEI, and API.
