Dr. Debanjana Barman, MBBS, MD is the Scientific Officer -E in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI).
Dr. Barman has more than 15 years of experience in Population Based cancer registry under the network of National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research (NCDIR), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Dr. Barman was awarded International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) travel grant for undergoing training on "Cancer Survival Methods for Cancer Registries" in 2015 held at IARC, Lyon ,France.
Dr. Barman has completed a certificate course on ‘Health Research Fundamentals’ conducted by ICMR –National institute of epidemiology in 2018. She has also completed a course on Professional Diploma Course in Clinical Research (PDCR).
Dr. Barman has been associated with Concord 2 and Concord4 for global surveillance on cancer survival.
Dr. Barman is a resource person for tobacco and cancer awareness programme and has attended various workshops conducted by NCDIR as faculty. She has presented various papers in national and international conference.
Dr. Barman has publications in peer reviewed journals. She is the co author of a chapter in the book "Principles and Practice of oncology".
She is involved in academic activities of various courses at BBCI.
She is the Joint Secretary of Cancer Research Foundation, India. |
