Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi has a diverse experience of 40 years in the field of nursing education and service. She renders her services to various community fields aiding urban and rural area, community health center, home services, arranging health camp in remote community area.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi has graduated from the 1st batch of B.Sc. Nursing from Regional College of Nursing in the year 1983 under Gauhati University. She has done her M.Sc. Nursing from Christian Medical College & Hospital Vellore under Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Tamil Nadu. She has also done her Ph. D. in Nursing under University of Gauhati.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi has started her career as tutor in Community Health Nursing at Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati. Followed by that as Lecturer, Associate Professor in consecutive years of her work at Regional college of Nursing, Guwahati. She was then transferred with Promotion as Professor cum Vice- principal at B.Sc. Nursing College Dibrugarh attached to Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh in the year 2011.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi has served as Professor cum Principal at B.Sc. Nursing College, Dibrugarh till her retirement at 2019. She has also worked as Professor cum Principal at Dispur Nursing Institute, Guwahati.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi has joined Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati as Principal cum Professor (Nursing) in the year 2020.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi is a recognized Research Guide for Ph. D Scholars- Nursing under SSUHS from 2010 onwards, 4 research scholars has already been awarded their Ph. D degree under her. She has national and international publication in nursing journals. She has also presented her paper in the United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Populations session in the year 1999.

Dr. Tarulata Kakoti Majhi also holds various additional responsibilities as Registrar, Assam Nurses Midwives and Health Visitors Council since 2014 till 2018; Dean of faculty- SSUHS since 2014 till retirement (2019) and Academic Council member from 2009 onwards till retirement.
