DR. BINOY KUMAR CHOUDHURY, MD,FICR,Fellowship from SGH Singapore, is currently holding the post of Professor & Head, Department of Radio-diagnosis. He has a vast experience of more than 30 years in Oncologic Imaging. His area of interest is Image-guided biopsies. Dr Choudhury is trained in Ultrasonography at Apollo Hospital, Chennai in 1990. He received his CT Scan training at Toho University Hospital, Japan in 1996. He underwent Radiofrequency Ablation training at Rajib Gandhi Cancer Institute, Delhi in 2011.
CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP IN DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY IN SINGAPORE: Dr Choudhury completed Clinical Fellowship program in Diagnostic Radiology at Singapore General Hospital in 2000 and he was the only Indian doctor to receive the Fellowship in that year.
Dr. Choudhury was awarded 1st prize for Oral scientific paper presentation at Annual Conference of Assam chapter of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) in 1991.
Dr. Choudhury was selected for Dr. P. K Haldar National Fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging in 1992 by ICRI (Academic wing of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association).
DEVELOPING NATIONS INVESTIGATOR AWARDS: Dr. Choudhury was awarded International Developing Nations Award for his research paper at 10th International Conference of Lung Cancer held in Vancouver, Canada in 2003. He was one among 13 winners of this prestigious award selected from various countries of the world.
Dr. Choudhury received Travel Award for his scientific oral presentation at 73rd Korean Congress of Radiology held in Seoul, South Korea in 2017.
Dr. Choudhury was awarded Certificate of Commendation for his research paper presentation at the International Cancer Imaging Society Annual Teaching Course held in Menton, France in 2018.
Dr. Choudhury has attended numerous national and international medical conferences. He has more than 57 scientific paper presentations related to Diagnostic Radiology and Image-guided biopsies at regional, national and international conferences in various countries.
Dr. Choudhury has delivered numerous scientific talks in many national and international conferences as faculty. He has received various International grants and travel awards for attending international conferences.
Dr. Choudhury has 17 publications and 3 book chapters to his credit.
Dr. Choudhury is undergoing an ICMR funded research project on “Radiomics with Machine learning methods towards predictions and management of Gallbladder Cancer” under Tezpur University with collaboration of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati.
Dr. Choudhury was awarded National Fellowship of Indian College of Radiology (FICR) by Indian College of Radiology & Imaging (academic wing of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association i.e. IRIA) for contribution in Radiology & Imaging in 2022 at the 74th Annual Conference of IRIA held in Bengaluru.
Dr. Choudhury is actively involved in teaching of students & residents at BBCI and under Indian College of Radiology & Imaging (ICRI) National teaching program.
Dr. Choudhury is associated with various medical associations as members and office bearers. He is a national executive member of Society of Oncologic Imaging India (SOII). He is a national member of Sub specially group of Oncologic Imaging of IRIA. Recently he has been selected as Member of Indian Joint Commission on Cancer for the year 2023 as per approval of the General body and Central Council meeting of IRIA held on 3rd & 4th February 2023 at Amritsar.
