  • Has performed more than 1500 major cancer surgeries
  • Specializes in minimally invasive cancer surgeries including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgeries (VATS) for esophagus and lung cancers, laparoscopic surgeries for stomach, colon and rectal cancers and video-endoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomies (VEIL). He has presented this work in both international and national forums.
  • Has performed a large series of multi-organ resections for gastrointestinal cancers. He has published this work in an indexed journal.
  • His work also comprises of major hepatectomies, cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS-HIPEC), radical cystoprostatectomies with ileal conduit and neobladder reconstruction, retroperitoneal lymph nodal dissections (RPLND). He performed the first CRS-HIPEC at BBCI (2022).

  • He does dedicated work in bone and soft tissue (BST) tumours including complex shoulder resections and internal hemipelvectomies and compartmental resections for retroperitoneal tumours, apart from resection and reconstruction for extremity BST tumours. He has published this work in an indexed journal.
  • He has done a large volume of breast surgeries including conservation surgeries and oncoplasties including mini-LD and perforator flaps (AICAP, LICAP and T-DAP). He has published this work in a journal article.
  • He has applied sentinel node biopsy procedure (using single vital dye, dual dye including Tc99m radiolabelled dye and ICG) to various malignancies (breast cancer, penile cancer, melanoma). He has published the results in an indexed journal.
  • He has completed more than 200 minimally invasive cancer surgeries at BBCI in four years. These include the first VATS lung lobectomy (2019), first laparoscopic standard distal gastrectomy (2019), the first total minimally invasive esophagectomy (2020), the first laparoscopic inter-sphincteric resection (2021), the first video-endoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomy (2021).
  • He has more than 30 published articles in various national and international peer-reviewed journals with 23 citations. He is the author of 7 book chapters. He is the co-investigator in more than 5 on-going research projects at BBCI.
  • He has been the faculty trainer in various surgical workshops with live demonstration of procedures like minimally invasive esophagectomy, trans-hiatal esophagectomy, multi-organ resection for gastric cancer, breast surgeries including sentinel node biopsy.
  • He is the founding and current Editor of the official scientific magazine of BBCI named BBCI EDGE. Four issues have been released till date including: Musculoskeletal Cancer Special (June, 2020), Head and Neck Cancer Special (July, 2021), Esophageal Cancer Special (May, 2022) and Golden Jubilee Edition (Dec, 2022).
  • He is the member of Scientific Committee, Institutional Ethical Committee, Publication Committee and Data Safety and Monitoring Committee of BBCI
