The Clinical Research Secretariat (CRS) is a unique centre developed under TMC which serves as the
central contact point for all collaborative research projects within the institution. Any collaborative
study, whether investigator-initiated or part of a broader research network, must be submitted to
CRS for approval. The approval process follows a structured, three-tier system:
CAB Review: The CRS initially reviews the study and forwards it to the CAB for further assessment.
Scientific Committee Review: Once approved by CAB, the study is then sent to the Scientific
Committee for further review.
IEC Review : After Scientific Committee approval, the proposal is finally reviewed by the Institutional
Ethics Committee (IEC) for ethical clearance.
Additionally the CTA/MoU goes for review from the legal Team,TMH. Throughout this period, CRS
plays an active role in guiding researchers through each step, ensuring a smooth and efficient
approval process. CRS also facilitates investigator-initiated studies and thesis projects, supporting
academic and clinical researchers in advancing their work. Additionally, CRS is also involved in
training activities.
