Dr. Avinash Kumar holds the position of Assistant Professor within the Department of Dental and Prosthetic Surgery at Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute, bringing with him a wealth of clinical experience exceeding 5.5 years in his specialized field.

He obtained his BDS and MDS (Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge) degrees from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore.

Former Senior Resident in the Department of Dental and Prosthetic Surgery at Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital/Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre, TMC, Varanasi, U.P.

His primary area of interest revolves around the field of Maxillofacial prosthetic reconstructions post ablative surgery for cancer patients.

Dr. Kumar has also held the role of Assistant Professor within the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge at KVG Dental College and Hospital in Sullia, Karnataka. During his tenure, he gained 3 years of teaching experience, mentoring Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master in Dental Surgery (MDS) course graduates.

He is also a life member of Indian Prosthodontic Society of India.

He has attended and presented papers at many national conferences. Presented a poster on Head and Neck Radiotherapy Masks: A simple technique for recording facial moulage and got accepted in best 5 posters in Annual Evidence- based Management of cancers in India (EBM-2022) Reconstruction and cancer care “ Enhanching Quality Living with and beyond Cancer” organised by Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India.

He is certified BLS and ACLS member by the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care & Pain, HBCH / MPMMCC (Tata Memorial Centre), Varanasi A Grant-in-Aid Institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India.

Furthermore, Dr. Kumar has actively participated in research projects, having served as a Co-Principal Investigator for one completed research project and as a Co-Investigator for an on-going project at HBCH/MPMMCC, TMC, Varanasi, and U.P.

His contributions to the scientific community include the publication of 6 articles in national and international journals, several of which are indexed in PubMed. These publications serve as a testament to his dedication to advancing knowledge and sharing his expertise within the field of dental and prosthetic surgery.
