DR APURBA KUMAR KALITA, DMRT, MD, Professor and Head, Dept of Radiation Oncology, has a vast experience of more than 32 years in the field. Dr Kalitahas done fellowship in advanced radiotherapy techniques in Adelaid Cancer Center, Australia.

Dr Kalita has 30 indexed publications and 6 Book Chapters to his credit. He is also in the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics, which is the official journal of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India.He is also a peer reviewer in many index journals.

Dr. Kalita is Co PI of various Research Projects funded by ICMR/DBT. Dr. Kalita has taken the initiative to implement various advanced radiotherapy procedures in the department, such as SRS, SBRT, DIBH etc. He actively participates in departmental academic activities, including radiation oncology post-graduate teaching and technologists and radiation physicist teaching programs.

Dr. Kalita is also a recognized external examiner for MD-Radiation Oncology university examination. Dr Kalita has delivered numerous talks in many national and regional conferences as faculty. He has also delivered Oration of Association of Oncologists of North East India (AONEI) in 2019. He is also working as a member of Institutional Ethics Committee. Dr Kalita has worked as nodal officer during COVID 19 pandemic for Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute. Dr Kalita is associated with various oncology associations namely AONEI, AROI etc.
